Faith and Science

“Faith is universal. Our specific methods for understanding it are arbitrary. Some of us pray to Jesus, some of us go to Mecca, some of us study subatomic particles. In the end we are all just searching for truth, that which is greater than ourselves.”
— Vittoria Vetra

Angels & Demons was the first of the many great adventures Robert Langdon embarked on after an otherwise uneventful, genteel life. He is thrown headfirst into the action and the novel is quite fast paced as he struggles to solve the mystery.

The beautiful imagery of Italy and the Vatican is juxtaposed against the backdrop of subsequent murders. The conservative structure of the Christian religion is pitted against the newest force discovered by modern science and technology.

Angels & Demons is a fantastic read and I will always remember Angels & Demons fondly as I read this book during my last visit to our ancestral estate which is now no more. It was also the last time I saw my grandparents.
