How many bars of soap does one need?

“The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club!”
— Chuck Palahniuk

Fight club was a look into a different world. A world where we acknowledged the deep spiritual crisis plaguing one half of humanity. When all great wars have been fought and all unmapped lands have been charted, we are still men. If no great battles and no great voyages are left, we must create our own.

To learn the respect that comes from facing one another in hand to hand combat. To shun materialism and consumerism so the things we own don’t end up owning us. Living with what we need and not what all we want. Because only after we have lost everything are we free to do anything.

Brad Pitt had the most incredible physique playing Tyler Durden. Edward Norton was the quintessential antihero. The script and story were simple, surreal, and stunning. The utopian dystopia that is Fight Club is a work of utter genius that will hold great truths for every subsequent generation that discovers it.
