i love not Man the less, but nature more

“But you’re wrong if you think that the joy of life comes principally from human relationships. God’s placed it all around us. It’s in everything. It’s in anything we can experience. People just need to change the way they look at those things”
— Christopher McCandless

There really is very little to redeem the notion of a conventional life. Life was made for living and anyone with any ability realizes that and pursues it. Chris, being exceptional, was no exception. Leaving behind an unhappy home, unreasonable expectations, and a life of no meaning, this was his journey.

The things one discovers after leaving the banality of society. The incredible people, the incredible adventures, and the incredible revelations about the world and oneself. To live more authentically, closer to nature and one’s own beliefs and convictions.

It is incredibly unfair to judge someone’s life by its ending. Chris gave up the ordinary to live a life discovering its true meaning instead of submitting to the bourgeoisie. Sometimes things do not work out as planned when going off the beaten track; it does not make it wrong to try.
