One Trilogy to Rule them All

“Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.”
— Gandalf

Peter Jackson did the impossible with the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He took a cornerstone of the fantasy genre and somehow made it into a trilogy of films which, in many ways, were even better than the original books.

We follow the journey of Frodo as he and Sam venture into Mordor to destroy the ring of power, while the fellowship helps distract Sauron. There are slight variations from the original storyline in the books and this makes the plot a lot more interesting.

This is one of those perfect marathon movies for movie nights with friends. The only suggestion would be to play the highest film resolution possible to truly grasp the beauty of this artistic epic as everyone settles in to enjoy the epic battle between good and evil.
