A Life Spent Caring for Animals

“Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty”
— Albert Einstein

There is something sensational about lives of extraordinary achievement by normal, everyday individuals. Daphne started her extraordinary mission in 1977, thought it can be said she had been preparing for it all her life by caring for animals that came into her care.

The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is one of the best run charitable organizations that I know and I personally support their valuable work. None of this would have been possible had Daphne not persevered to discover the formula for elephant milk and other techniques that have aided the conservation effort.

Some people really do have greatness thrust upon them and such people tend to make the best leaders for their cause as their motives are pure and not tainted by personal ambition. We all owe a great deal to Daphne for helping conserve our precious planet.
