Sometimes A desert is just a desert

“I would like Ras Al Khaimah to be a hub for tourism as it has a lot of history, beautiful beaches, lovely sand dunes, and magnificent mountains rich in archaeology.”
— Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al-Qasimi

Yes, there is more to the Middle East than just Dubai but Ras Al Khaimah, however, is not it. There is little to describe of this place other than it being an old tribal stronghold that eventually became a state in the local federation of Emirates.

There are numerous tourists visiting the scores of hotels that have opened up to cater for budget package holiday travelers wanting to escape the harsh winters in their own countries. Dubai, thankfully, is not too far a drive.

They city survives on funding and other assistance from Abu Dhabi. They have done well for themselves considering their circumstances. There are numerous opportunities to make a profit, for those who can understand the intricacies of the local landscape.
