Spiritual Country

“We must meet one another doing good. ‘But I don’t believe, Father, I am an atheist!’ But do good: we will meet one another there”
— Pope Francis

Christians are charitable people. They allow even outsiders into their holiest of places to come and experience the wonders of the Vatican. The whole place is exquisitely done and filled with incredible art pieces. The whole country could be considered art.

The beauty inspires a sense of spirituality which is hard to fathom from afar but very palpable in person. I am sure every Renaissance great has left their mark on this edifice of christianity. The pope has one splendid place to call home.

The gift shop sells small bottles which can then be filled at a font with holy water. Spirituality or holiness of course cannot be bottled, however, this comes very close  as it serves a continual reminder of a memorable visit to one of the great spiritual Meccas.
